The adverse effects of human activities on the planet are no secret. The consequence of our exploitation is evidently seen in the drastic rise in temperature levels leading to the melting of glaciers, forest fires, etc. From land to water to air, the overutilization of human resources has created an existential threat to all living beings. Therefore, urgent, and collaborative action must be undertaken to successfully achieve the transformational journey for the planet toward clean, green, and sustainable development.
The Planet People Program (PPP) Charter outlines our vision, objectives, management, and governance controls to promote the efficient integration of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into our day-to-day activities and initiatives. Our purpose is to facilitate a platform for the youth to make the right impact, one that is positive on the environment and community. Furthermore, we aim to endorse the need for adherence to ESG principles as an integral part of our journey toward sustainability. This PPP Charter guides the following generation of lawyers on matters about ESG aspects and helps build a community that is conscious in its conduct and collectively fights the crisis faced by the planet and people today.
With the objective of creating a human chain focused on addressing the current global climate crisis and other issues about the environment and social components, i.e., the natural overutilization of the natural habitat, the core patron – Dhir & Dhir Associates launched ‘The Planet-People Program’ on 8th April 2022 at Dehradun (India) campus of its first academic patron Uttaranchal University & Industry Patron – FICL. A revolutionary project designed to facilitate a common platform for young students/ budding lawyers to voice their opinions, undertake initiatives and implement desired plans to address the global climate crisis and other critical issues about the planet’s well-being and people.

Know MoreAs key anchors Dhir & Dhir Associates and Uttaranchal University were desirous of providing one of its kind & a first platform globally for to-be lawyers to voice their thoughts in an organized and controlled manner. An attempt was made to have more law colleges endorse the program and create meaningful interactions and voices on the planet & people. This was the first human chain of to-be lawyers in a structured manner in the world. Dehradun is one of the country’s most eco-sensitive capital cities; the program’s primary seat is being set up in the said city. Participating partners could create more local seats along with the above key anchors.

Great leadership sets the right direction, creates a clear vision, helps align with people, inspires strong company culture & overall objectives, and motivates the stakeholders for enhanced efforts toward sustainable development. Dhir & Dhir Associates as the core patron, helped create a council of patron colleges and their students, who were selected based on specific criteria decided by the core patron. The core patron and other participating colleges will have periodic meetings to drive suggestions and working of the PPP Council.
Each patron college nominated one participant each per category basis the following governing structure.
As a result, all college students became ambassadors of PPP. They displayed their digital badges with responsibility. The PPP platform would not be responsible for any act against any laws or nuisance activities under PPP, and participating colleges shall take suitable disciplinary measures.
